Dear Friends of Veenwouden,
It is harvest time here at Veenwouden and we are busy, busy, busy! This year promises the release of new vintages, old vintages and great tasting events. Our quarterly news letter will keep you informed of all the latest releases and events as well as accolades and interesting facts about the Veenwouden wines.
A word from the winemaker:
Veenwouden Harvest 2011
Harvest started a week later due to cooler weather before the ripening period. I am happy with the harvest thus far. This will be the first year that I will be making a Sauvignon Blanc and I am very excited. The Sauvignon Blanc has beautiful aromas, and I believe it will be a great addition to the Reserve Range. Thus far I believe that 2011 will be an exceptional Merlot year similar to 2010. It will be interesting to compare these vintages as they mature. We are still busy harvesting Merlot and should be bringing in the last Merlot grapes by Friday. We will then start with the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon and I am still looking forward to the next two weeks of harvesting. Overall the 2011 harvest looks very promising and as good as 2010.

Merlot 2008
The Veenwouden Merlot Reserve 2008 shows the qualities that have made this wine a favourite among Merlot lovers.
